Hello
I have cake on the brain. My sister is 19 in under a month and I’ve
been thinking about the cake…A LOT. Since I could learn to bake I have always
made her a cake, some better than others. I really like coloured cake. Last year
I made a red velvet cake (I didn’t take any good pictures of it). I liked the
cake but the flavor of the food colouring was too powerful, because it needed a
lot to get a deeper colour. One day I might experiment with natural palatable
colours like beetroot juice. I have been spending a lot of time staring at cake
on the Internet and I have come up with a top 5 cake ideas/recipe.
Cherry Vanilla Layer Cake

I like the blue and pink colours and how
they compliment each other…did I tell you she has had pink and blue hair in the
past! I also like how the icing has been done.I think the cherries add some
natural food colouring which I like.
This is the rainbow cake. I am in love with
it and wanted to make it last year, but kept on finding reasons not to. This
year it WILL be made for this event or not!
I haven’t found the right recipe for this
yet. I think I’m going to have to get a little creative in the kitchen. I
have looked on blogs but I can't seem to find what I’m looking for. We both love
oreos, oreo milkshake, oreo chocolates I tracked down LINDOR
COOKIES AND CRÈME BALLS for her this Christmas.
I didn’t jump on this bandwagon either but
I think that these look so fun to bake! Little happy mouthfuls of fun! But I
don’t know they seem like a bit of a faff and aren’t good enough as a main cake
but a “side cake”.
Who doesn't love chocolate cake? Who doesn't love Nigella? This cake is a pretty safe bet seems straight forward to make and the icing sounds so yummy! I think the sugared flowers make it very pretty too!
Love
Issey
